CNN: Trump Will Stay Away From Senate Races If Asked

Donald Trump's presidential campaign is telling Senate Republicans up for reelection they can keep their distance from the real estate mogul if they feel it would help their chances of winning.
According to a CNN report, Trump's campaign chairman and chief strategist Paul Manafort gave the word to Republican lawmakers last week.
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, wants to help the party ensure it maintains its grip on the House and Senate after the November election. With several tight Senate races ongoing, Democrats are already seizing on the opportunity to tie the incumbent Republicans with Trump.
CNN cites three people who were in the meeting last week that said Trump will steer clear of any touchy issues while campaigning in a state that includes a close Senate race. Further, the Trump camp will not hold any ill will toward Republican senators who choose to distance themselves from him.
Trump self-financed his primary campaign but now that he's the assumed nominee, he is working with the Republican Party to raise money as he begins to focus on the general election.
