Tampa, Fla is getting whacked by a massive number of lightening strikes

The meter reached 275 charges per minute a bit back, in the last hour at least 1,000 have reached the ground.

Lots of pics of McCourtie Park online. Pretty amazing concrete works. Back before they made it a park it was a buffalo pasture for a while. I grew up not far away so I saw it often.

A few miles up 12 from there is Irish Hills, where there's all kinds of weird stuff on the road.  "See Mysterious Gravity Shack!!"  Right next to the Dinosaur forest....

We got over 4.5" at the airport over night.  Any time there's even minor flooding the fire dept spends all day rescuing idiots that think their Celica can go through 4' of water.  Over 40 high water rescues so far today in San Antonio.

Yeah, all that limestone doesn't absorb water very well.  Especially when it comes down that fast.  That was wicked set of storms yesterday.

Only a bit over 3 weeks before I start moseyin on down yonder to get out of Michigan winter.  Hope that crazy weather leaves before I get to SA beginning of Nov.

Oh my.  The 46 degrees yesterday (central Texas) was wonderful.  Then it warmed up to 81.  Pretty near perfect.

Yeah, the weather missed where I am for the most part, but some places north of here got 5+ inches of rain and some hail.

It's already rained more here in Kentucky than it did some summers total in Midland.  At times I think I need to build an Ark...and find a brush hog for my back yard.
