TEHRAN (FNA)- The Al-Nusra Front announced on its social media pages that the group's members engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL rivals and killed two senior field commanders of them in Homs province.

"Rafed Taha and his associate Aber al-Aswad were killed in al-Nusra Fronts' ambush in the Northern part of Homs," the terrorist group claimed, adding, "Taha was the commander of Liwa Osoud al-Islam affiliated to the ISIL and was killed near Deir Ful in Homs."

Recent victories of the pro-government forces against the terrorists groups across Homs province, including liberation of Quaryatayn and Palmyra have widen gaps among the terrorist groups in Central battlefield of Syria.

On Tuesday, the Syrian Army troops and popular forces pushed the ISIL back from more positions East of Homs province and advanced rapidly against the terrorists along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzur highway.

"The Syrian soldiers and the National Defense Forces have deployed their units to a region only 10 kilometers to the strategic town of Arak along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzur highway," the sources said.

"If they win back Arak from ISIL, they could target the last villages between the Deir Ezzur and Palmyra," they added.
