He won't.  Trump will insist on his innocence, meanwhile making an out of court 'settlement' on his behalf.

Trump is now threatening to file battery charges against Fields.  I doubt he will as there is nothing at all to make anyone think something happened with Fields and Trump... and he'd be up for making false charges himself.

But he's threatening it.

This could have been over with on day one, if Trump and Lewandowski sent her a huge bouquet of roses and an apology letter, saying how very sorry they were - explaining that he was trying to pull her back but grabbed her arm to hard.   Instead Lewandowsi go public and says he "never touched her" which he obviously did,  and that he never met he before, another lie.

Deescalating the situation doesn't seem to be in The Art of the Deal.

Except in this case, the District Attorney and the police are the ones who chose to pursue charges after reviewing evidence. Fields filed the charges, but law enforcement decided evidence was enough to take action so he would have to go after them.

Good luck with that....

...but really, if he was actually serious about filing charges, he wouldn't be asking Twitter about it, he would be talking to his lawyer. If he goes on Twitter, that means he isn't actually filing charges, he is just trying to get a talking point out there for his retweeters to get behind.

The court decides guilt or innocence, not the police, DA, anti-Trumps or the media.

I'm positive that thought never even entered their tiny little brains.  Thoughts like that are for losers.  Trumps a Winner!

Who, Ms. Fields and her attorney?

Where does she ever claim to have been thrown to the ground????? Or, is this more trump type muddy the water with made up stuff?? Criminal lawyers do that at times to get their guilty client off the hook.

She didn't. From day one she has said she NEARLY fell.

Gotta love Trump's nostalgia for the days when a guy could manhandle women without consequence.

What goes around comes around. Ms. Fields better hope she has the evidence to support her charges. Innocent until proven guilty, despite what the anti-Trumps post.

Not in her court anymore.  The State prosecutes crimes, private individuals do not.  Charges almost certainly would not have been brought unless there was good cause to believe a case could be made.  If the jury or judge chooses not to convict, that has no bearing on her.

We are now at the point where @realdonaldtrump says @michellefields asked for it. Unreal.

I wonder if he'll claim she walked into a door.

Isn't unwanted touching battery?

Not all unwanted touching.  Otherwise, everyone in a crowded Trump rally who bumped into someone else would be guilty of battery.  The contact must be harmful or objectively offensive, and beyond what could be objectively expected under the circumstances.  When you go to a crowded Trump rally you more or less consent to being bumped around here and there and probably even having your toe stepped on.

Brushing up on the cost sleeve of a person in a crowded rally is not criminal battery. It isn't even a civil suit.  Trump is just making this worse and worse for himself.

Can anyone honestly say, watching him today: Oh wow, he sure is acting like a worthy Commander in Chief for the young men and women who pledge their lives to this country and the Constitution?

Yes, I practiced criminal law for a few years and handled battery cases.  Most cases are thrown out unless there is some injury.   This type of event happens all the time with bodyguards and rarely are they charged.   If she claims that this incident caused her bruising/injury, I would think it was self inflicted.  The reporter already lost her credibility by alleging she was thrown to the ground.  Trump's manager was also not accurate, but his report is closer to the truth than her rendition.

Counselor, she never claimed she was thrown to the ground, and you're making wild speculations about the bruising.  The pulling on the video is certainly capable of causing bruising.  Or are you saying she intentionally bruised herself before the rally just on the off chance she could frame Trump or his manager?

What has become of Fox News?

That wasn't Fox saying that, it was some chairborne ranger  tweeting it to them.

That would have been total class and Trump could then have been justifiably proud of his actions.
