@Right_in_Virginia Sometimes the Russians get it right.
I remember shortly after the original fall of Communism, and ANYBODY in Russia that wanted a gun could buy one. Most Russians, though years of hard experience, thought it was a trick and refused it,but not all.
One new gun owner was a woman who worked in a bank away from Moscow. One day a robber came into the bank, pointed a gun at her,and told her to give him all the money.
Instead, she pulled her own gun, shot him dead, and called the police.
When interviewed by a Moscow newspaper about this failed robbery, the local police chief was asked what sort of charges he was going to file against the woman. This was done on film for a tv audience, and the local chief of police just looked confused and asked "WHAT charges? She didn't do anything wrong."
