Takin an X to her meeting with her Parole Officer 50 miles away this morning my dashboard on my 15 Doidge Journey lite up like a Christmas tree, BRAKE, ABS and TC. I hope it's just a wheel Sensor but it's just too damn hot to check it out.

The real fun with that particular car came when the oil pressure sending unit started failing. I was in the middle of a long drive from Indiana to Oregon, and noticed that the needle would first drop to zero, then fiddle around a bit, get back to normal pressure, then drop again. I kept it going figuring that I would stop at the first sign of the temperature getting seriously elevated. It got all the way to Portland and when I straggled into a repair shop there, the guy said “don’t worry; it’s got a mechanical oil pump; if the pump had failed, you would have known it immediately.”

Turns out he was right... Chevys, particularly, will be clackin the lifters long before you are doing any damage. So if the lifters are happy the pressure is good... And the gauge is more or less a convenience.
