@Smokin Joe

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt on that one,and just assume you weren't making a joke.

BTW,it would have been a clever joke IF that had been your intention,though. We,of course,know that never entered your mind.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Of course they ended in failure. ANY law that is contrary to human nature is doomed to fail because people will only obey it at gunpoint,and we all know where THAT leads.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

Jim Jones was a socialist Democrat.

Thanks, I had to fix three of them.

@Slide Rule - if you have an image that turns out to be large like that, you can add a "width=800" inside the img tag, and it will reduce the width to a manageable size.

This reminds me of a used 350 Chevy engine I got from a coworker. He had just put a crate engine in this truck and this was his orig engine. I was just getting my 53 CJ3B going and it had a froze up 283 when I got it. It had set up in the owners back yard for 10 yrs. It had a hood scoop that let rain water drip down the air cleaner screw into the intake. I got it running with that 350 and driving it to work about 18 miles each way, it was burning 2 quarts of oil a day. So I tore it down and discovered that every oil ring was seized in its groove. No telling what kind of oil or oil additive would do that. So I did a ring and bearing job on it and now some 30 yrs + later that engine is still running strong. Too strong for that jeep's drive train so I keep my foot under control.
