I did in a '99 in 2WD with a tailwind: 17.2 MPG, 65-70 MPH, all highway.

Okay, Okay, once again it wasn't meant to be taken as a true statement, it was hyperbole like if I was to say Ford products don't have a tendency to self ignite :shrug:

You do realize the tailwind was at least 40 MPH...This is North Dakota I'm talking about.. :laugh:.

Shoot. With all that, you should have a mast and a hay tarp... Cheap as hell one direction... But coming back against a 40 mi. headwind probably eats the difference.  :shrug: happy77

Just time your trip to coincide with the High pressure systems...
It isn't bad in the Suburban. No matter were I went in my 1-ton van, I had a headwind.. :shrug:

About the freakiest wind I ever dealt with was about 60 MPH crosswind on a Superglide, dragging a footpeg just to keep it in the lane headed west. I turned South, and then could light up a smoke doing 60 (with a Zippo) and not behind a windshield, either. Only problem is, home was north...>sigh< another late night....
