Not true. The most recently commissioned Nuke is in AZ, and it's still going as hard as ever, which is a lot because it's the largest plan in addition to being the newest. That said, it was built decades ago and there hasn't been a license issued since. Meanwhile, plants are being shut down because of age.
@Cyber Liberty Thanks for the update. Given all the anti-nuke propaganda,as well as all the solar farms and windmill farms,I just assumed they were all closed.
BTW,one solar farm that used panels is now closed and up for sale. Given that it was a golf course near a resort area,I have to believe the purchase price,as well as the expense of bulldozing all those hills flat,made that a losing proposition from the start.
Then again,I am one of those people that get confused trying to figure out what I am going to do with the dozens of dollars I have left over each month after paying bills.
For all I know it was a planned bankruptcy from the start,and the corporation that lost money selling it to their relatives were able to write enough off of their taxes to make it worthwhile.
Meanwhile,the corporation that bought it might need the tax write-off for the time being,and have plans to build condos on it in the future and triple their money once the tax write-off no longer works.
