After Losses, Marco Rubio Skips the Donald Trump Jokes
« on: March 03, 2016, 06:26:33 am »
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Gone were the petty torments about the size of Donald J. Trump’s hands and the orange hue of his skin. In fact, Senator Marco Rubio was all business on Wednesday, leaving aside the mean jokes about Mr. Trump.

Mr. Rubio spent the day in Michigan after a string of disappointing defeats in the Super Tuesday contests, rallying a rowdy but relatively small crowd compared with the ones he had been drawing.

He spoke to several hundred people at a banquet hall in Salem Township, Mich., in the late afternoon. And he kept the Trump insults limited to the developer’s business dealings and political ideology.

“If we choose Donald Trump as our nominee, we will lose in November,” he said. “If we choose Donald Trump as our nominee, we will put in charge of the conservative movement someone who is not a true conservative. And if we choose Donald Trump as our nominee, he will have carried out the most elaborate con job in the history of American politics.”

Mr. Trump, he added, was exploiting fear. And he urged people not to be taken in.

“We are at our worst when we appeal to those fears and to anger and frustration as the base of our movement,” he said, drawing nods and affirming shouts from the crowd. “Should we allow them to motivate us? Yes. Should we allow them to define us? Absolutely not.”

Rubio Trails Trump In His Home State... By A Lot!

(CNN)Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida is in serious danger of losing his home state to Republican presidential rival Donald Trump, a new poll shows.
Trump leads Rubio 44% to 28% in the Sunshine State, according to a Quinnipiac University poll of Florida released Thursday.

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas placed third with 12% support, ahead of Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 7% and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 4%.

The survey shows Florida voters are beginning to make up their minds: Only 5% of likely Republican primary voters said they are undecided, though 30% say they may change which candidate they support.

The Florida GOP primary, which awards the winner all of its 99 delegates, will take place March 15.

While Rubio has dismissed concerns about his primary strategy -- and continues to insist that the fractured GOP field has contributed to Trump's dominance -- failure to win a single delegate in his home state's winner-take-all contest would seriously undercut his viability as a candidate.

Rubio aide Todd Harris was quick to shrug off the Florida poll, writing on Twitter, "Media needs to chill. The FL Q poll #'s are way wrong. We are going to win Florida. Period. Take it to the bank."

The Quinnipiac Florida poll isn't the first to show Trump leading a home state contender. A Quinnipiac poll of Ohio released earlier this week found Trump beating Kasich, the state's popular governor, 31% to 26%. Ohio voters will also cast their ballots in a winner-take-all primary also March 15.

Trump is poised to rack up hundreds of delegates in the Super Tuesday primaries March 1. His lead over Rubio and Kasich in their delegate-rich, winner-take-all home states, which vote two weeks later, threatens to derail their bids and push him even closer to securing the Republican nomination.

The poll surveyed 705 likely Republican primary voters in Florida between February 21-24 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

February 25, 2016 - Trump Trumps Rubio Among Florida Republicans, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds; Leadership Is Important Factor In Race

The Donald Trump juggernaut rolls into Florida where the GOP front-runner leads native son Sen. Marco Rubio 44 - 28 percent among likely Republican primary voters, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas has 12 percent with Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 7 percent and Dr. Ben Carson at 4 percent.

Men back Trump over Rubio 49 - 25 percent, while women go to Trump 39 - 31 percent, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll finds.

Trump gets a low negative score in the Sunshine State as 21 percent of likely Republican primary voters say they "would definitely not support" Trump for the nomination, with 26 percent saying no to Cruz and 17 percent saying no to Rubio.

Five percent of Florida likely Republican primary voters are undecided and 30 percent of those who name a candidate say they might change their mind before the March 15 primary.

Strong leadership is the most important quality in a presidential nominee, 32 percent of Florida Republicans say, as 23 percent most want someone who is honest and trustworthy and 20 percent most want someone who shares their values.

"Florida is the single biggest prize of the primary season because it is the largest state to allocate its delegates on a winner-take-all basis. If Sen. Rubio can't win in his own home state, it is difficult to see how he can win elsewhere," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

"Florida election law makes this contest more uncertain than earlier primaries. Only registered Republicans may vote here, which raises the question of whether the flood of new voters Donald Trump seemed to bring to earlier contests will be able to participate in Florida."

"The size and shape of Trump's lead is impressive. He leads in every age group by 9 to 19 percentage points. He does better among men than among women and, despite being a New York multi-billionaire, he leads among those who identify with the Tea Party," Brown added.

"He also does twice as well among white evangelicals as does Sen. Ted Cruz, who is trying to make this group his core constituency.

"A third of likely primary voters say a candidate who is a strong leader is key to their choice and 66 percent of them support Trump."

Trump is the choice of 66 percent of Florida likely Republican primary voters who most want a candidate with strong leadership, with only 16 percent for Rubio.

The native son leads Trump 39 - 29 percent among Republicans who most want someone who shares their values.

Rubio and Trump are tied 30 - 30 percent among those who most want a candidate who is honest and trustworthy.

The economy and jobs is the most important primary election issue, 31 percent of Republicans say, with 18 percent citing terrorism and 14 percent listing immigration.

Trump tops Rubio 51 - 28 percent among voters who list the economy and jobs as the most important issue, 44 - 34 percent among those who cite terrorism and 66 - 12 percent among those who say immigration is most important.

From February 21 - 24, Quinnipiac University surveyed 705 Florida likely Republican primary voters with a margin of error of +/- 3.7 percentage points. Live interviewers call land lines and cell phones.

The Quinnipiac University Poll, directed by Douglas Schwartz, Ph.D., conducts public opinion surveys in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Colorado and the nation as a public service and for research.

Sinking Rubio’s strange obsession with Trump: talks about moguls privates ahead of Super Tuesday

Marco Rubio has decided to talk about the issues that matter to him the most, Donald Trump and his penis.

According to Rubio, Trump’s private parts are the biggest issue in the GOP election, causing condemnation from party officials who want Marco to “get serious.”

Rubio has been sinking in the polls recently, and the penis comments is causing widespread condemnation

“He’s like 6’2” which is why I don’t understand why his hands are the size of someone who is 5’2″. Have you seen his hands?” Rubio said during a rally in Roanoke, Virgina. “You know what they say about men with small hands? You can’t trust them. You can’t trust them.”

Yes, Marco, that’s just what they say about men with small hands. That wasn’t a dick joke at all, it was an attack on Trump’s trustworthiness! Or it was a dick joke with a paper-thin cover. One of those. So this is where the Republican primary stands. Marco Rubio, establishment boy wonder, is trying to catch bully supreme Donald Trump with taunts about spray tans and penis size.
