Mitt Romney will deliver a major speech on the state of the 2016 race for the White House Thursday, amid rising panic among some Republican leaders that Donald Trump may be cruising to the nomination. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee will speak at 11:30 a.m ET from the University of Utah. Exactly what Romney will say was not immediately clear, though there were no signs that Romney would either endorse a candidate or jump into the race himself.Romney considered another White House run at the beginning of 2015 before deciding against the move, reportedly after being out-raised by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush -- who has since suspended his campaign.Despite his decision not to run, there has been widespread media speculation that he could be tempted back into the race in the case of a contested Republican convention as a last gasp way to stop Trump.

He did.  A lot of the fundies who are supporting Trump wouldn't support Romney because he was a (gasp!) Mormon!

Now they're upset because the rest of us won't rally behind a protectionist, nativist bigot.

You must have watched a different Mitt Romney.  Romney was less than inspired in the second debate after Crowley effectively told him to shut up and was a complete joke in the third debate.  The last few weeks he acted as if the idiot was sitting on a lead.  Romney didn't lose because he was a Morman.  He lost because he fought weakly and did not inspire confidence due to his flip flops on several issues.  He let Obama characterize him as a rich, out of touch bastard.  Romney lost because of Romney.

Sean Hannity today stated he was among Romney advisors when they assured Mitt he had it in the bag after the first debate. They advised him to ease off in debates 2 & 3. Hannity went on to say he argued vigorously against such an approach but was not listened to. The rest is history.

It is widely documented that many, many evangelicals sat out the election.  Why? One can only theorize, but Mormons are not popular among the non-denominational crowd.

Did HANNITY say anything about not talking about immigration, along with RUSH, LEVIN and BOR? CANNOT see HANNITY fighting anything the RINOGOPe wants let alone VIGOROUSLY! These Republican Progressive Establishment UNIPARTY PUNDITS have been lying to their audiences for 20 years and FINALLY got EXPOSED. Like the POLITICANS who get caught doing something. No, he did not say anything about immigration but, then, that wasn't the topic he was discussing at that moment. So...

As to his support of Romney, yeah I can see him doing that vigorously because Romney was the nominee and his opponent was Obama.

This, of course, was back in the good old days when Republicans of all persuasions were strongly encouraged to unite behind whoever was the candidate. That no longer applies.
