My first choice was Jindal. My first choice now is Cruz. Yet as we get nearer and nearer to the primary many things can change. I will vote for who I think will beat hillary. I still think Trump is going to go 3rd party and help her.

He probably will because Trump is all about Trump, and not about what's best for the country.

I think Cruz is a good choice because he's a fighter, but also a man of principle and actually a conservative Republican.

Being just a 'fighter' doesn't qualify a person to be the leader of the free world.  Trump isn't going to get his way like he imagines he will, and he will throw tantrums as he has done all along the way.

We need an adult.

I think he will run 3rd party. Karl Rove this weekend had Carson meet Steve Wynn. I saw a article now can't find it Trump thinks that is the GOPe not playing fair because of this. I have no doubt he will run 3rd party which by the way will guarantee hillary her final prize. Queen of the world.

If he runs third party because he hasn't been treated 'fairly' it will prove that it's all about Trump, and not about the country.

He has to know that he can't win as a third party candidate, and that he will split the Republican ticket and give Hillary the win.

Then again, as some others have suggested, that might have been his goal all along.  He's certainly not principled enough to drop out to help the country survive.

Even if he had wanted to if he was going against hillary to you think the FCC would have let him buy one or two? As for her selling state secrets that has just been found out and I think Trump just got into the race by then.

The FCC wouldn't have batted an eye if he'd done it in '13 or '14. Nor would Her Thighness.

By that logic, would you agree that if he doesn't run third party that it's not all about him?

That's a nonsensical question at every level.

You're working too hard to make a point that can't be made.

Logically, it's not a nonsensical question.  You posted if he runs 3rd party, it would "prove" it was all about him.

The flip side of that is if he doesn't win the nomination and doesn't run 3rd party, that would "prove" it wasn't all about him.

If you don't mean what you post in terms of "proof," please use more clarity.  Thanks.  Dismissing my question as nonsense is bullbleep.

....HOW IS TRUMP WORSE THAN HILLARY?

Many are unsure whether their long term records are really different. So is he better, same or worse?

Only their hairdressers knows for sure.

Yeah...one is a bonafide free-market capitalist billionaire and other is a Saul Alinsky, big government Socialist who wants to control your life, your diet, and when you die.

Donald Trump is a crony capitalist.  That's the only way you get large projects done in NYC.

Both have spoken in favor of a single-payer hairdresser, for all of us. (Not them, of course)

Nah, not the way he speaks of her and her record during rallies.  Today in Sarasota his final comment on BJ's bride was "She belongs in jail!!!!" -- complete with his outstretched arms and a crowd brought to its feet cheering.

(BTW, he held a rally for the folks who filled the arena and then went outside and held a second rally for the 1,500 who couldn't get in)

So, IOW, you admit here that in order to be successful like Trump, you have to grease the palms of the reigning politicos, whether they're DEMS or PUBS.

How's that cognitive dissonance going?  Your nastiness and ugliness the last few weeks seems to rise in fall in step with what must be a liberal-size helping of it.

Crony capitalists are those who cannot succeed except by currying favor with the political class.  What they are not is successful free-market capitalists.  Take away the government subsidies and protections and Trump would be nothing more than a two-bit real estate hustler.  As a matter of fact, that's all he is in the first place.  But for his cronyism he'd probably be selling used cars someplace in NJ.

I, for one, have had more than enough of a schmuck hustler who demagogues and who relies on the corruption of government.  I don't need another eight years of the same thing, thank you very much.  It's a shame you don't seem to have learned an iota these past eight years.

Then I'll let wikipedia tell you, sweetie-pie:

Quote
Crony Capitalism

Crony capitalism is a term describing an economy in which success in business depends on close relationships between business people and government officials.  It may be exhibited by favoritism in the distribution of legal permits, government grants, special tax breaks, or other forms of state interventionism.  Crony capitalism is believed to arise when business cronyism and related self-serving behavior by businesses or businesspeople spills over into politics and government, or when self-serving friendships and family ties between businessmen and the government influence the economy and society to the extent that it corrupts public-serving economic and political ideals.

The term "crony capitalism" made a significant impact in the public arena as an explanation of the Asian financial crisis.  It is also used to describe governmental decisions favoring "cronies" of governmental officials.  In this context, the term is often used interchangeably with corporate welfare; to the extent that there is a difference, it may be the extent to which a government action can be said to benefit individuals rather than entire industries.

The emphasis is mine.

By the by, it wasn't very nice of you to start the name-calling.  You obviously didn't read my post well because the only person I referred to as a schmuck was Trump.

Then again, I'm big enough to deal with it; are you?

The odd thing is he's the only candidate on either side right now aiming at HRC.  I'm sure the Trump Haters will find a way to say he's really helping Hillary by continually calling her a liar and a criminal, though.

All of this has been documented and cited in countless threads but read his book 'The America We Deserve' (find a used 2000 edition as he has re-released it a few times). He has shifted his positions faster than John Kerry tells you he served in Vietnam. In that book, he comes across on many issues as not much different than Hillary on most issues. In 2008, he was complaining Mitt Romney's immigration policy was too hard. This wasn't like Reagan's switching from a Democrat as they became more liberal and left him, he held (and who knows what he actually believes) very, very liberal positions on most issues.

Some examples:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2015/07/09/ths-many-ways-in-which-donald-trump-was-once-a-liberals-liberal/

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.  You wonder why many of us don't trust what he says now in the least. It isn't just his words, he not only put his money where those values were, if you look at how he ran his own businesses (ie, his actions), he ran them like a corrupt, cronyistic liberal, not a free market conservative. His actions speak a lot more to his 'then' values linked above being his true belief than what he says now that has no actionable evidence to match to his words.

I won't challenge anything you said here. I will note however that it was many years ago when Trump made those comments to which you object and he wasn't the president then, nor was he in the process of challenging the political establishment to become president at that point in his and our history. He was just talking, opining – and you know how he goes on.

Secondly, people do evolve politically. In fact, I suspect that just thinking about doing the job of president of the United States changes a person's perspective (just as achieving billionaire status no doubt does).

I see Trump as someone who works hard and who throws himself into his pursuits, learns quickly, constantly strives for success and has proven he can overcome obstacles to success. As in this case, to achieving a successful GOP nomination by knocking out his competitors before they knock him out, then recording a categorical defeat of the demon democrat Hillary, and finally, achieving a successful presidency.

From 2012 to 2015 is NOT "many years ago.

And he was warning against Romney's harsh position on illegal immigration, lest Romney and other Republicans lose the election.

Somebody that is evolving doesn't take that route. It is not logical.

But as I have posed several times, loud and bold have replaced logic, consistency and reasoning.
