Elijah Cummings Is Trying To Make ‘Black Lives Matter’ Into A Law

Black Lives Matter isn’t just racist and exclusionary; it also masquerades as a political movement. The problem is, too many Americans aren’t buying the idea that black lives are more important than others or that equality means that black people should be treated differently. Thankfully, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), with the help of token whitey Elizabeth Warren, are trying to make Black Lives Matter into a law to force us all to accept it.
Cummings laid out his plan on Afro.com (yeah, that’s a thing) in a piece titled: Enacting “Black Lives Matter” into law
America is at an historic crossroads. Either we will move forward in 2016 with public policies that support greater opportunity for everyone or we will continue to sink deeper into economic inequality, injustice and violence.
These are the stakes in our current political struggles – and this is why Black lives should matter for everyone.
Not to nitpick, but black lives don’t really matter to black people judging by the epic level of black-on-black violence going on in this country. Come to think about it, they don’t matter to the liberal politicians who swear an allegiance to Black Lives Matter either, considering by their support for abortion, which takes the lives of hundreds of thousands of unborn black babies every year.
I guess the point isn’t so much to make black people or democrats believe that black lives matter more, but rather to force white people to. Cummings knows he can’t just submit a bill that tells people they have to believe this, so he’s come up with a three-point plan to make it a reality.
Step 1 involves no longer putting black people in jail when they commit crimes, as well as making police officers less safe on the job:
Armed with the truth, Americans can no longer deny that the criminal justice system yields different results for different populations.
Tackling these disparities will require fundamental policy changes, ranging from how our police interact with our community to how sentencing disparities for different drug crimes affect different populations.
In order to achieve these goals, we must reform our criminal justice system through sweeping legislation at the federal level that I am proud to co-sponsor – legislation like the proposed SAFE Justice Act, Fair Chance Act, Police CAMERA Act, End Racial Profiling Act, and Stop Militarizing Law Enforcement Act.
Step 2 is some radical redistribution of wealth:
Black lives must matter more in the priorities of our nation, as must the lives of all Americans, and our lives must matter more in every important facet of American society.
This is why Senator Warren, other progressives and I are fighting for middle class prosperity for everyone – for living wage jobs, affordable health care, strengthened Social Security and expanded federal education funding.
It also is why Senator Barbara Mikulski and I are fighting to enact the REBUILD Act, which would appropriate more than $1.2 billion in emergency funding to address critical challenges facing our nation’s inner-city neighborhoods.
Holy shit! $1.2 billion as starting point to address “inequality?” Also, did you notice how he said that black lives must matter more?
Step 3 is to get rid of all the white conservative politicians:
A Multi-Racial Coalition is the Key to Success
Candidly, the current Republican majority in the Congress is unlikely to agree with REBUILD or other progressive initiatives. If we are to enshrine these reform proposals into law, we must first elect progressive leaders in 2016 and beyond.
As you can see, it’s really quite simple to achieve Black Lives Matter on a national scale. Just make it so blacks are above the law, give them assloads of money they didn’t earn, and get rid of all the white politicians who may stand in the way of this “progress.”
Give Elijah Cummings some credit here. He’s managed to come up with something that is fascist, socialist, racist, and dangerous to society. And the beauty part is, it won’t change a damn thing. It’s like he has some kind of liberal super powers to waste this kind of money on something this ineffective.
