SC Gov Nikki Haley: No, Don’t Change Gun Laws Because Someone Screwed Up In Dylann Roof’s Background Check

Nikki Haley continues her defense of the Second Amendment.



South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley appeared with Chuck Todd’s goatee on Meet the Press this morning to discuss a number of issues, including gun control. She said that gun laws don’t need to change just because the federal government screwed up Dylann Roof’s background check.

Todd’s goatee asked Haley if she believes that the waiting period for a gun purchase should be expanded because some bureaucrat didn’t enter Roof’s record into the system in time to trigger a red flag when he submitted an application to purchase a gun. In other words, the government screwed up, so why not further restrict the civil rights of the American people?

 


Haley wasn’t having any of it.

The governor said that she was literally sick to her stomach when she heard that the federal government screwed up in that background check. She went on to argue that the issue isn’t about time, it’s about technology, and that charges should be entered into a database immediately.

In other words, she wants the government to do its job.

What a typical Republican.

Nickki cannot not be trusted by conservatives and she will pay the price if she runs for Governor again in SC.
