Obama Admin Will NOT Prosecute Lois Lerner For Contempt

The Obama administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) decided not to prosecute Lois Lerner for contempt of Congress.

Former IRS official Lerner was held in contempt by the U.S. House of Representatives last May after she refused to testify about her involvement in the IRS’ improper targeting of conservative and tea party groups. Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment privilege to deny wrongdoing then tried to plead the Fifth, according to the House Oversight Committee. (RELATED: Confirmed: Obama Admin Has Lerner’s Emails Now).


But U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ronald Machen will not prosecute Lerner, he told House Speaker John Boehner in a letter.

As The Daily Caller reported, DOJ lawyers tried to shut down the search for Lerner’s missing emails.

“We are gratified but not surprised by today’s news,” said Lerner’s lawyer William Taylor in a statement. “Anyone who takes a serious and impartial look at this issue would conclude that Ms. Lerner did not waive her Fifth Amendment rights.  It is unfortunate that the majority party in the House put politics before a citizen’s constitutional rights. Ms. Lerner is pleased to have this matter resolved and looks forward to moving on with her life.​”

This comes as no surprise to me.  No one in the Obama administration is held responsible or accountable.  If you are a Democrat working under the Obama umbrella you have carte blanche to do whatever you want.  Scandal after scandal, controversy after controversy and absolutely nothing is done.  We have become a nation of lawlessness.  The liberals have rewritten laws and side-stepped the Constitution without needing to use the amendment process. With the help of the lies of the liberal media and those in Congress, Conservatives are seen as rich evil individuals seeking to interrupt the lifestyles of the liberals and seen as corrupt.  Conservatives who have been swayed to be more centrist and compromising conservative principles has only added to the destruction of our government.  Washington is beyond broken and the liberal Democrats will stop at nothing to make sure it stays that way.  It is crucial that the GOP sends a clear message as to why conservatism will work better than what we've been experiencing for the past decade.  It is crucial that we back and run a strong conservative, otherwise we will lose this country as we know it as the liberals will certainly continue Obama's transformation that has already begun.
