Reality Check - a little clarification what is going on here before everyone runs to the gun store and empties shelves of 5.56 and driving up the cost, which maybe is the real motivation here.  The ATF is considering a ban on SS109 ammo! ("Green Tip" 5.56mm NATO aka M855), not all 5.56.

Even though I don't fire SS109 green tip, this is still one of them,  Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile things. They've done this over and over again. ATF & Executive Orders = an affront to democracy and the republic. Let's just make rules without any oversight. If they get away with this fairly benign ban on a green tip bullet designed for targets, all bets are off. Those idiots must stay awake all night dreaming up stuff to ban...
