Steve Rattner was on the Morning Joe panel over at MSNBC, as the crew discussed the arrest of Democratic Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver up in New York.
As the issue of the bribery charges came up, Rattner proclaimed, “The fact is they don’t pay these guys full-time salaries. They pay them, I think, $112,000 a year and they’re actually allowed to have outside employment. Once you’re allowed to have outside employment, where is the line?”
Huh? $112,000 isn’t a full-time salary?
Well, as NB points out, Rattner’s net worth hovers around $188 million, so it’s no wonder he’d have no sense of how much money regular people earn. It’s also no wonder these people think the economy has rebounded. Incidentally, Silver’s salary was closer to $121,000.
