Only 16 Percent Of Blacks Believe MLK’s Dream Has Been Achieved

A new Wall Street Journal / NBC News poll reveals that only 16 percent of black Americans believe that “America is a nation where people are not judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character”:
More than a quarter of white adults asked last week strongly agreed with the statement, “America is a nation where people are not judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Yet only 16% of African-Americans polled said the same, a number that has fallen one percentage point since President Barack Obama was first elected in 2008.
Of those polled, a majority of African-American adults—52%—said they strongly disagreed with the statement, while 16% of white adults said they did.
White Americans remain unsure as to whether or not the dream has been achieved, while a large majority of black Americans are pretty fervent in their belief that it has NOT been achieved. Note also that the 16 percent agreement rate among blacks represents a drop in one percentage point since Obama took office in 2008.
Furthermore, according to a Gallup poll, Americans’ satisfaction with race relations has dropped sharply from 51 percent in early 2008 to just 30 percent today.
According to a poll by the New York Post, a whopping 73 percent of residents in Mayor Bill de Blasio’s New York City believe that race relations within the metropolis are “fair” or “poor.” This represents a drop in 14 percentage points since de Blasio took office.
And according to an Al Jazeera America / Monmouth University poll, 80 percent of Americans now believe that “racial and ethnic discrimination is a problem.”
Question: Is it just me, or do liberals seem really, really, really good at screwing up race relations!?
