Progressives Go Full Denial in Response to Muslim Terror Attacks

The progressive responses to the rise of ISIS and the latest wave of violence can be characterized as full-on denial. Not just denial that Islam is involved. Not Blowback theory. The sheer insistence that what is going on is beyond comprehension.
That’s what Ezra Klein offered in a bizarre piece claiming that the killers had no motives.
These murders can’t be explained by a close read of an editorial product, and they needn’t be condemned on free speech grounds. They can only be explained by the madness of the perpetrators, who did something horrible and evil that almost no human beings anywhere ever do, and the condemnation doesn’t need to be any more complex than saying unprovoked mass slaughter is wrong.
Stewart offered more of the same studied bafflement. “Our goal tonight is not to make sense of this, because there is no sense to be made of this.”
Of course there is plenty of sense to be made of this, but liberals are finally going full ostrich. They’re announcing that what is happening is crazy and that they will not deal with it.
Behold the Eloi at its best. The great explainers whose explanation is that we should ignore everything that’s happening because it makes no sense and no sense can be made of it.
The one thing they can tell us is that the Muslim terrorists aren’t killing people for the reasons they say they are. Because their actions are inexplicable. We can’t and shouldn’t try to understand them. We should just focus on our old ideology and ignore reality.
