State Department Suggests We Might Be Behind North Korea’s Internet Outage

By Brian Carey, December 22, 2014.

Brace yourself. The Obama administration might have actually done something right.

At today’s press conference, U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesfem and everybody’s favorite English 101 grad student teacher assistant Marie Harf fielded several questions, one of which was about North Korea’s current Internet outage.

“As the President said, we are considering a range of options in response,” Harf said. “We aren’t going to discuss publicly operations details about the possible response options or comment on those kind of reports in any way.”

Then, she qualified what she was talking about.

“Except to say that as we implement our responses, some will be seen, some may not be seen,” she said.

The Internet outage in North Korea could very well be one of the “seen” responses.
