It is a convenient thing to accuse someone of wrongdoing without even affording them an opportunity to respond. That is exactly what took place with a Democrat-only report now being made public that outlines a myriad of interrogation techniques against terrorists following the September 11th, 2001 attacks that killed over 3000 American lives.
The report is said to have cost over $40 MILLION dollars. That amount is particularly interesting given the many (and likely far more serious) scandals involving the Obama administration that Senate Democrats refused to spend a single dime investigating.
$40 million dollars to irresponsibly accuse tough men and women doing a tough job trying to protect the rest of us so we can go about our safe and comfortable lives here at home. There was no such outrage from Democrats regarding the Obama administration’s IRS scandal abuses that are still ongoing. No outrage over massive expansion of the NSA spy program since 2009. No outrage over the hundreds of innocents murdered via Obama drone campaigns that included the killing of American citizens without the benefit of a trial. (And yet, this same administration demands non-citizen terrorists should be afforded a trial in our criminal justice system courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer.)
Among the most offensive aspects of this Democrat-only report, beyond both its suspicious timing and astounding cost, is the fact the very interrogation techniques utilized by American CIA agents did in fact likely save American lives.
Here is what former CIA officials said in a just published Wall Street Journal editorial – officials who served under both Democrat and Republican administrations:
The Senate Intelligence investigators never spoke to us—the leaders of the agency whose policies they are now assailing for partisan reasons.
The Senate Intelligence Committee’s report on Central Intelligence Agency detention and interrogation of terrorists, prepared only by the Democratic majority staff, is a missed opportunity to deliver a serious and balanced study of an important public policy question. The committee has given us instead a one-sided study marred by errors of fact and interpretation—essentially a poorly done and partisan attack on the agency that has done the most to protect America after the 9/11 attacks.
…Here’s an example of how the interrogation program actually worked to disrupt terrorist plotting. Without revealing to KSM that Hambali had been captured, we asked him who might take over in the event that Hambali was no longer around. KSM pointed to Hambali’s brother Rusman Gunawan. We then found Gunawan, and information from him resulted in the takedown of a 17-member Southeast Asian cell that Gunawan had recruited for a “second wave,” 9/11-style attack on the U.S. West Coast, in all likelihood using aircraft again to attack buildings. Had that attack occurred, the nightmare of 9/11 would have been repeated.
Interrogations Saved Lives
That is but one example within the WSJ CIA officials editorial. It is appalling that a member of the Senate went before the public and declared a one-sided report that failed to question any top CIA officials regarding its allegations, to be the definitive word on what was and was not happening via our CIA operations post-911.
Another troubling layer to today’s anti-CIA report is the fact it is yet another law and order assault by Democrats during the Obama era. How many times have local police, border patrol, military, CIA, etc., been painted with accusations of abuse? How many top military officers have been forced out during the Obama years? How many journalists intimidated by the administration? City’s pushed to the brink of all out race wars?
We would do well to remember that THIS president accused the American military of simply “air raiding villages and killing civilians.”

This one-sided anti-CIA report has little to do with right and wrong and far more to do with adding yet another attack against the protective system that allows the United States to protect itself from those who would see us all, including our children and grandchildren, wiped off the face of the earth by any means necessary.
These far left Democrats who consistently appear to despise America itself, are now just as intent to leave the door open for this country’s many and deadly enemies while declaring those same enemies have every right to be treated with kindness and understanding.
I guess I’ve always subscribed to this line of thought instead where I am among the many who are afforded the luxury to rise and sleep under the very blanket of freedom that others so bravely provide:
