Schilling, lawyer don’t show at lobbying hearing

   PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Ex-Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has failed to show up for an administrative hearing into alleged lobbying violations related to 38 Studios, resulting in the hearing officer declaring him in “default.”

The Providence Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1wNSJ5f ) Schilling’s attorney also didn’t appear at Friday’s hearing into whether Schilling engaged in unregistered lobbying in 2010 before his video game company got a $75 million state-guaranteed loan.

The lawyer initially indicated Schilling couldn’t appear because of cancer treatments. Schilling is in remission and returned to work as an ESPN analyst.
