Perhaps some of you have noted as I have the number of Democratic operative comments on how so few people seem to be complaining about Obamacare and that the issue is largely a non-issue leading up to the 2014 Midterm Elections.
First, the news has been dominated by such things as ISIS and EBOLA. Secondly though, and much sneakier, is the fact that the 2014 enrollment period for Obamacare has been pushed back to AFTER the elections. In fact, the date is nearly SIX WEEKS later than it was last year – November 15th. That’s eleven days after the Midterms.
Word is premium costs under Obamacare are skyrocketing and another half million or so people will see their current healthcare plans cancelled in the coming weeks as well. The administration is aware of this, so made certain those rate increases would not wash over the American public until after they had already voted in the 2014 Midterms. Imagine the election impact of having hundreds of thousands of voters seeing their healthcare costs jump significantly, and knowing it was Barack Obama and the Democrats who created this monstrosity without a single Republican vote supporting it.
This is people’s healthcare. For some, it’s literally a situation of life and death, but for the Obama administration, it’s nothing more than politics of the most deceptive kind, which not coincidentally, appears to be their favorite kind of politics as well.
While there is nothing to be done at the moment regarding the financial and logistical nightmare that is Obamacare, let us all hope that if voters give Republicans the numbers that allow them for the first time in nearly a decade to have any real say in what laws are passed in Congress, they quickly move to form an alternative to the Obamacare beast.
