O’Reilly Goes Nuclear on ‘Propagandist’ CDC Director, Calls on Him to Resign
by Josh Feldman | 8:31 pm, October 13th, 2014

Bill O’Reilly went nuclear tonight on CDC Director Tom Frieden, calling him out for refusing to appear on his show and declaring that Frieden should resign for perpetuating a “dumb and dangerous ruse” on the likelihood that Ebola may spread in the United States.

O’Reilly trashed the “total garbage” coming from Frieden, and called him a chief propagandist spreading a “dumb and dangerous ruse.” And not getting behind a travel ban while believing airport employees will be able to check for Ebola is “stupid and irresponsible and puts all Americans at risk.”

And in the next two segments O’Reilly held on the subject, he continued to hammer away at Frieden. He continued to call him a propagandist and “spinner,” shouted about the “total lie” of civilian employees being able to spot Ebola, and continued to call on him to resign.

O’Reilly cried, “Resign! Have a little dignity!… You’re misleading the American public!” And he kept shouting in anger at Frieden for the rest of the segment.

Good. There are not a command and control system at CDC. There are 50 states with 50 different protocols each with their own different rules. There should be one person at the top directing the effort which should be the Surgeon General getting daily reports from Africa and here in the United States.

  • "...and the winning number is...not yours!
FYI....Mr. Frieden was the the guy behind Mayor Bloomberg's war on salt...the limit on 16oz sized soft drinks, and other forced food bans in NYC.

So... what you're advocating is that the state governments (and those within the states, medical personnel, ordinary citizens) give up MORE self-control to an all-powerful government edifice?

Do you really, really trust the current DC government to do much of anything right?

Who would you have in mind?

I nominate Dr. Ben Carson. A surgeon (not an epidemiologist) but he has good management and communications skills, which he would need for such a role...

There should be one person to coordinate actions. There will be a loss of social order when a pandemic spreads. The right hand needs to know what left hand is doing. In Europe they have same centralized protocols on everything.Everybody must be on the same page. This person at the helm must be an epidemiologist.

See the movie Contagion.
