UK arrests 9 Islamists for treasonous speech; Time for US to follow suit?

Written by Allen West on September 26, 2014

Perhaps Britain has finally come to realize it has a cultural jihadist problem and multiculturalism ain’t working anymore — and while free speech is fine, sedition and incitement to treason is not.

I believe that’s a lesson we Americans will have to come to grips with — soon. As reported by the UK Daily Mail, “Radical preacher Anjem Choudary was one of nine men arrested early Thursday morning as part of an investigation into Islamist terrorism. Choudary, 47, and eight other men aged 22, 31, 31, 32, 36, 38, 39 and 51 were arrested by Metropolitan Police officers in London, and have all been taken to police stations – where they remain in custody. His arrest came shortly after he posted a series of nine tweets at about 5am today with an anti-Western tone, referring to the ongoing crisis involving ISIS militants in Iraq and Syria. Muslim activist Abu Izzadeen – born Trevor Brooks – is also among the nine men arrested. Some 19 residential, business or community premises were being searched today as part of the investigation, Scotland Yard said.”

We can ill afford to dismiss the cancer growing within Western civilization which is enabling the recruitment of a new generation of Islamists right under our noses. We can no longer make apologies for this abhorrent behavior which does not seek to assimilate and “coexist” but rather promote an ideology of Islamic supremacy while carefully using our individual rights to mask their actions.

The Mail reports “a police spokesman said: ‘These arrests and searches are part of an ongoing investigation into Islamist-related terrorism and are not in response to any immediate public safety risk.’ Officers confirmed that the nine men were arrested on suspicion of being members of a proscribed organization, supporting a proscribed organization and encouraging terrorism.”

“Choudary, who is of Pakistani descent, studied law at Guildford, before moving to London to teach English as a second language. After becoming a lawyer and completing his legal qualifications, Choudary became chairman of the Society of Muslim Lawyers. He was later removed from the roll of solicitors in 2002. He later embraced radical Islamism and co-founded the extremist organization al-Muhajiroun, working with the Islamist militant leader Omar Bakri Muhammad.”

“Earlier this week, it was reported that Choudary said he has no sympathy for Alan Henning, a volunteer aid worker who was captured in Syria. ISIS militants threatened to behead the 47-year-old in a video released earlier this month, which showed the murder of another British man, David Haines. Choudary is reported to have said: ‘In the Koran it is not allowed for you to feel sorry for non Muslims. I don’t feel sorry for him.’ Choudary co-founded the now banned group al-Muhajiroun. Fanatics Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, who were both jailed earlier this year for the brutal slaying of Fusilier Lee Rigby, were both seen at demonstrations organised by al-Muhajiroun, before it was banned.”

One of the critical fronts in the war against Islamo-fascism and jihadism is our home front. It is here where we cannot allow the concept of Hijra to overtake the governing systems of our Constitutional Republic. Obviously we are engaged in a long war against these non-state, non-uniform belligerents who have a global reach — as evidenced by recent revelations of imminent attacks by the al-Qaida offshoot Khorasan group and others.

However, what makes these barbarians effective are those who operate within our gates as enablers to their evil designs — the quite whisperers who hide in plain sight and seek to use flowery language to reduce our guard. Or in some instances, clearly articulate their intent and challenge us to take a stand — in response we have a president who states that “ISIS is not Islamic” which effectively arrests our ability to confront the venomous ideology.

When we allow protest marches in our streets supporting a declared Islamic terrorist organization — that goes beyond the first amendment right to “petition your government for redress of grievances” to being full support of seditious activity. It crosses the line of free speech, freedom of expression, and freedom to assemble and becomes a tumor that erodes our true freedoms.

Now, perhaps you progressive socialists are going into a frenetic state, but I applaud the arrests made in London. And if we don’t draw the line, then we become complicit in the downfall of our Constitutional Republic as we afford the freedom to our enemy to publicly denounce our Country and attack it — that is what we can information warfare.

The sooner we stop with the cultural jihadist apologist mantra and see this enemy for what it is, then we will be able to stop living in constant flux about our security — as we see happening in New Jersey and New York right now. Ya gotta ask yourself, would we have allowed the Nazis to have front groups in America that advocated for them? So why do we have Muslim Brotherhood affiliated groups doing it now?

Anjem Choudary is a snake who spews forth the poison of islamic totalitarianism — and there are many like him. We must stop the insidious behavior of walking by the snake pit — or worse feeding the snakes. As the title of Brigitte Gabriel’s book states, They Must Be Stopped.
