Quote
A Pentagon investigation concluded in 2010 that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his unit, and after an initial flurry of searching the military decided not to exert extraordinary efforts to rescue him, according to a former senior defense official who was involved in the matter.

U.S. concluded in 2010 that Bergdahl walked away

Yet at least 6 good men, all of whom remained at THEIR posts, died trying to recover this POS!
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Col. David Hunt: 14 soldiers were killed searching for Sgt. Bergdahl.
"There is no question he deserted," Col. Hunt said on Fox News.
Bergdahl wrote in an email that he was ashamed of America - that he was disgusted by our country.
How ironic that he was rescued by the very nation that he finds so disgusting.

With that in mind, how in hell did anyone at the White House conclude this would be a good idea??  It appears that it was Susan Rice, National Security Adviser, who not only came up with this whopper but went on the Sunday shows herself to declare Bowie al-Ameriki a frickin' hero!!

I would love to have been a fly on the wall of Leon Panetta's study when he heard about this one.  Like him or not he's head and shoulders above Chuckie Hagel and Bowie defected on Leon's watch so he is intimately familiar with what happened.  These casualties happened as a direct result of Bowie's actions, and I am certain Panetta made himself intimately familiar with the details.
