[[ Al Gore's father voted against Civil Rights Act of 1964 ]]
Gore Sr. did the right thing.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 has been one of the most destructive pieces of legislation ever passed, not far behind ObamaCare.
It accomplished completely the opposite of what it was "supposed to" do. It did not "make people equal". Quite the contrary, it created an entire new group of "specially-privilged" persons, entitled to special treatment to which others were not.
Intended to stop "discrimination", the CRA enshrined it into American politics.
Again, Al Gore Sr. did the right thing.
I realize this opinion may be unpopular is today's poltically-correct environment, even on so-called "conservative" forums...
