WILSON, N.C. (WNCN) — The man accused in the ambush shooting of a woman outside the Wilson County Courthouse before being injured himself in a gunfight with law enforcement earlier this week now faces more charges stemming from the incident, according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
An NCSBI agent served new arrest warrants Thursday morning on 21-year-old Abdul Karim Fadil Mustafa, charging him with four counts of felony attempted murder and two counts of felony shooting into an occupied vehicle, the SBI said in a Thursday news release.
The new charges are tied to Mustafa’s alleged actions toward Wilson County sheriff’s deputies and Wilson police officers who responded to Monday’s courthouse shooting, which escalated into a gun battle blocks away, investigators said.
