Trump: the (un)stable genius

The Dems are at it again, accusing Trump of being mentally unfit to be president.

The Dems are at it again, accusing Trump of being mentally unfit to be president. Sen. Shutdown Schumer says he is unhinged; Obama-wannabee Hakeem Jeffries says he is out of control. They are both woefully wrong. In fact, Trump may be a genius, but is that a stable or unstable one?

Trump likes to say he’s a “stable genius,” but being an unstable genius also has its benefits. For example, there’s the madman theory: essentially, exhibiting volatile traits and unpredictable behavior puts the fear of God into adversaries. It seems to be paying off again. Even hardcore Iranians don’t want their uncivil civilization expunged; indeed, with the ball back in their court, there’s a possibility of further peace deal talks.

Madman behavior, under the auspices of “peace through strength,” works. Here is what is truly insane: just as the U.S. is winning the war, and potentially the peace, Dems are intent on introducing a War Powers resolution. Such anti-Trump (and anti-American, essentially) political maneuvers will only embolden Iranians when they may finally be begging for a deal. Dems accuse Trump’s bombastic comments of being erratic, but he sure got the Iranian’s attention, and he’s not the first president to manifest madman moods.

During a time when the whole world was faced with the Cold War at its hottest,  Eisenhower threatened to nuke North Korea in order to break the war’s deadlock. It helped, leading to the Korean War armistice in 1953. Eisenhower, widely regarded as calm and steady, helped “end” one war (at least hostilities during the ongoing truce, a formal peace deal wasn’t signed); Trump, the (un)stable genius, has ended eight… and counting. In the realm of realpolitik, where power vacuums are filled by tyrants, do you want stable and staid, or an unpredictable genius who loves life and values all lives (except those who are manifestly cruel and inhumane)?

It's rich irony that people who live by talking out of both sides of their mouths take Trump directly on every word that leaves his, with no though of that he might be playing or clowning someone like the silly mullahs of Iran.

Unpredictability is an asset in wartime. If the enemy knows what you are going to do, they can prepare, otherwise, they have to be ready for every possibility, and that consumes resources that could be used against the actual threat. Rommel had to deal with this, tied up defending Calais against the possible invasion by the ghost army Patton was in charge of while Normandy was being invaded. That diversion of resources made D-Day go much better than it might have.

I can't think of a genius who was "normal".

By definition, a genius isn't.

What many take for instability, isn't really.
It is just that they are absorbing and processing information faster than the person viewing them can keep pace with.
It's like Algebra class, where the teacher skips 20 steps and says, "Obviously, the answer is this..."
