New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing renewed scrutiny after a report claimed his wife, Rama Duwaji, liked several social media posts appearing to celebrate Hamas’s October 7, 2023, terrorist attack against Israel.

The report, published by Jewish Insider, says the activity occurred shortly after the assault that killed nearly 1,200 Israelis and foreign workers, wounded thousands, and saw 251 civilians and military personnel kidnapped, along with reports of widespread rape.

Posts Allegedly Celebrated the Attack

“New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani spent the mayoral campaign distancing himself from the most radical anti-Israel elements of his leftist movement, but an examination of his wife’s social media activity reveals she liked multiple Instagram posts cheering on Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, assault,” Jewish Insider reported.
 
“The posts liked by Rama Duwaji, a Syrian-American artist, unambiguously celebrated the terrorist attack, which saw nearly 1,200 Israelis and foreign workers killed, thousands wounded, 251 civilians and military personnel kidnapped, and numerous episodes of sexual assault.”

If you search her online the results scarcely go back to before her theatrical wedding to Zohran Mandani. A few posts about a weirdly successful career as an ok artist. She went to an international school in Dubai. But no social media images from her earlier life, from her teen years in Dubai? No college pics? Someone of her generation would not be an internet black hole pre-2020s. Who is Rama Duwaji really, why is her past so scrubbed, and what is she doing at the national security and financial heart of America’s most important city?

New York socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s wife is already in the midst of a scandal about her jihad-aligned views after she was caught liking and promoting posts about Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre online, but it turns out she also translates that virulent antisemitism into her “art.”
 
Rama Duwaji Mamdani is an artist, but in the socialist trend that all art is politics. One of the works she provided a leading graphic for was an essay by Susan Abulhawa called “A Trail of Soap.” Abulhawa has repeatedly issued the most outrageous accusations against and labels of Jews, including an unhinged rant about “Jewish supremacist vampires.” Abulhawa also claimed she wanted to vomit every time she hears the Hebrew language, and insanely argued, “Most of the people killed on October 7 were actually killed by Israel.”

New York City’s first lady, Rama Duwaji, is facing scrutiny over a string of old social media posts in which she praised figures tied to terrorism and echoed anti-American rhetoric, according to a review of her past accounts.

The posts, uncovered by the Washington Free Beacon, date back to when Duwaji was a teenager and in her early 20s. They include references to members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization, and content glorifying the First Intifada.

In one September 2017 Tumblr post, Duwaji shared an image of Palestinian terrorist Leila Khaled alongside a quote attributed to her.

“If it does good for my cause, I’ll be happy to accept death,” the caption read.
