Yesterday, Donald Trump posted an interesting video on his social media about voting machine election fraud in 2020. This is obviously a topic dear to his heart. Moreover, as the investigations in Fulton County, Georgia, demonstrate, it’s still a very hot and important topic (making it all the more bizarre that Senate Republicans will not push the SAVE Act, which aligns with the bipartisan public desire for election integrity). That Trump would post such a video is a no-brainer.

The problem with the video Trump posted is that it’s a dead certainty that he reposted it without bothering to watch the whole thing. Had he watched it to the end, he would have known that there was a problem.

You see, the video is a screen recording captured by an unknown third party. And what the unknown third party was also clearly unaware of (or, possibly, didn’t care about) was the automated beginning of another, entirely unrelated video.

So, what you get after 58 seconds of a serious video about a serious topic is two seconds of an automatically played video showing Michelle and Barack Obama’s heads attached to the cartoon bodies of simian creatures. (Apes? Chimps? I have no idea.) You can see for yourself what happened:

Myself, I think that people should do to others what they would want done to themselves.

I did not vote for Donald Trump to be a preening "statesman" who makes perfect soundbites for the public all while being an utter failure at the job.

Had he lived, George Patton would have been a far more effective US President than the empty suit named Eisenhower whose best speech was the one he delivered in his last days in office. Eisenhower's eight years in office are remembered for little more than that one speech. Ergo, his time in office was mediocre at best.

Statesman is exactly what president, and all elected officials should be.

It’s a given they’re all politicians, but that is beneath a statesman.  All should shoot to be statesmen.  Trump is not and never was.

Reagan, there was a statesman.

And they get more accomplished long term than mere politicos.  Never mind narcissistic politicos.

Oh, and re Eisenhower, who may not have been the most awesome president, but he was good.  And not being remembered…that’s actually what we should appreciate.  Those who do the least, and govern least…well, that’s exactly what a Founder said was the best government.  I’d argue he is well remembered, and certainlY not too many disasters happened with him.  Though there was that McCarthy stuff, and the school thing, etc.
