There are many rabbit holes alongside the money trail that leads from the taxpayers' wallets through swamps and a forest of fraudulent transactions to where the money went.
The front 'men' in this instance seem to have a lot in common, an ethnicity to hide behind and shout "Xenophobia!" and "Racism!" and "We are the VIctims!", in an effort to get the public to ignore the CRIME that has been committed.
If investigators amid public opinion and the ever-willing smokescreen of the Mass Media can be shoved down one of those rabbit holes, the investigation will be stalled before the money trail is followed through the swamp of primary actors and forest of fine upstanding regulators who should have caught the fraud, (and maybe did, but looked the other way for fun, profit, ideology, or because their 'superiors' ordered them to ignore it at the threat of losing their jobs).
And, if those don't provide distraction enough, the final stretch of the money trail will lead to those who ultimately shared in the rip-off that has taken from those struggling to survive under Bidenomics and lined the pockets of fraudsters, crooked regulators, their 'superiors', and people offshore who just might not have our best interests at heart (yes, Virginia, terrorists).
Somewhere at the top of this complex criminal ecology, though, is an individual or a community of Apex predators. Ultimately, the question of "Cui bono?" leads to those who had the most to gain, who have positions of power to retain, who protected the whole operation, or the whole house of cards would have blown away like powder snow in a gale force wind.
Merely by the magnitude and nature of the crime (Who were the children who were never fed? The families who did not receive assistance? Do they exist? Because if they actually exist, they got ripped off, too.) the resolve to stay the course and follow the trail should not be weakened.
Who, in either Party will stand behind fraud that steals food from hungry little mouths or leaves children to roam feral when they should be protected? It doesn't matter what color those kids are on the outside, they are hungry on the inside, right? What culture could justify stealing from the mouths of hungry children to feed the aspirations of those thieves?
Well, there is a culture in a faraway place that 'justifies' piracy, that for decades--well, at least many years, has diverted shipments of food for the hungry to the warehouses of warlords to feed armies and keep them in power (and let the kids starve for the cameras to elicit more 'aid' from suckers far away). It would not be too hard to enlist a culture with that mentality to be the footsoldiers who stacked proverbial bags of rice with USAID stamped on them in the warlord's warehouse--but, ultimately, that, too is a rabbit hole. Just never mind the optics, the whining but well meaning celebrities, even the labor of shuffling bags of rice, click the button and make the digital transaction, and don't even break a sweat (unlike the poor sods who made the money and paid the taxes that fund the scam).
So, who is the 'warlord' here, who watches over the scam, and collects, ultimately, what is left after the various levels of participants have taken their cut? Who, (perhaps deniably) through underlings, oversees and benefits from and ultimately, protects the rest of this criminal organism, for the 'benefit' of all. Who is the Pablo Escobar of the COVID Aid Cartel? Or is that person just a minion of an even larger entity?
There are multiple layers that benefit, all but the taxpayers who got ripped off and those (should they even exist) who should have received the aid to begin with.
Stay on the trail, investigators! Do not be shoved into a rabbit hole or diverted into the swamp, but follow the money trail all the way to the top. You will likely encounter vicious PACs and hungry NGOs along the way, and at the end, you might find a DPL or even a DNC there, and at the top of it all, the one who gave the orders the others were 'just following'.
