Swalwell: Democrats should ‘telegraph’ impeaching, defunding Trump officials

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) said Sunday that his party should “telegraph” impeaching and defunding Trump administration officials over files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, if Democrats win back the House in 2026.
“Congressman, it sounds like you’re saying that inherent contempt, holding these officials in inherent contempt, or even the possible — a vote on impeachment of someone like [Attorney General] Pam Bondi,“ MS NOW’s Laura Barrón-López said on “The Weekend.”
“Or restricting funding,” Swalwell cut in.
“Or restricting funding. It sounds like, though, that may not happen until — or if Democrats actually win the House in 2026, is that right?” Barrón-López asked.
“Yes. And so we have to telegraph that that’s what we are willing to do if we are given the majority. Look, we all know that Jeffrey Epstein was Donald Trump’s best friend. We know that because Jeffrey Epstein said that,” Swalwell responded.
