Vance Blames Immigrants, Biden in Response to Affordability Questions
There is no significant relationship between immigration rates and rising housing costs in the US, experts have said.

In an interview with Fox News last week, Vice President JD Vance downplayed the significance of rising inflation and costs for consumer goods in the U.S., claiming that any price increases are not due to Trump administration policies.

Unlike President Donald Trump, Vance recognized that costs were up compared to last year. But he blamed former President Joe Biden for the increases.

The Trump White House “inherited this terrible inflation crisis from the Biden administration,” Vance said.

The vice president then blamed immigrants for the administration’s lack of action to make housing more affordable. (A new report from the National Association of Realtors, published earlier this month, notes that the median age of homebuyers in the U.S. is now 40 years old — the highest age ever recorded by the organization.)

The MSM does an excellent job of locating "experts" for possible trouble for Trump but aren't so good at it when news may be positive for him.

Government is driving up housing prices from both the supply-side and the demand-side.

Too much Government is preventing more housing from being built.

Too much Government subsidizes too many illegal aliens to rent too many housing units from an undersized inventory.

That excuse doesn't work anymore.  It's the same one that Obama used after 2008, and then Biden after 2020.  Trump is President now and needs to accept that responsibility (but he won't).

How many of the 20,000,000 people who came across the border between 2020 and 2024 should Trump take the blame for?

I have lived in enough boom towns to see what an influx of people does to the housing market; rents go from $400 to $ 1800, people who can't afford the change get displaced. Increased demand yields higher prices. The administration has (at best estimates) removed some 2,000,000 through deportations and self-deports, but that is only a fraction of that problem, and the other 18,000,000 have likely been reproducing...

Not being able to fix someone else's mess 'fast enough' doesn't mean the mess is your fault. You can do damage in a half hour with a sledgehammer that takes months to fix. Biden (and whoever was running the autopen) had four years.
How God must weep at humans' folly! Stand fast! God knows what he is doing!

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
