AG Pam Bondi Orders California Rep. Nancy Pelosi To ‘Preserve Emails’ Amid ICE Arrest Threat
Story by Danielle Shockey • 22h
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has escalated a legal and political battle with prominent California Democrats, announcing Thursday that she has ordered former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to preserve all her emails and records related to her alleged directive to arrest federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
"You cannot disclose the identity of a federal agent where they live, anything that can harm them," Bondi declared, adding that Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is also "same ball game with him."
The action comes after the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) sent a letter on Thursday to key California officials, including Nancy Pelosi, Governor Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Rob Bonta, and San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.
The letter demanded they immediately halt any threats or actions to arrest or obstruct federal immigration agents and instructed them to preserve all related records.
