Trump depicted him as the Grim Reaper. His neighbors think he wants to cause “maximum trauma.” Senate Leader John Thune told Democrats to brace for impact.

And those who know Russ Vought best say, good. Democrats should be scared. Because if unleashed, Trump’s two-time Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought has a swift and thorough plan to downsize the government that he has been preparing for years.

“Russ has been working on this type of plan for the government since a lot of these staff were in diapers,” Rachel Bovard, vice president of programs at Conservative Partnership Institute told the Daily Caller.

Vought issued a memo to federal agencies on Sept. 24 as the government inched toward a shutdown asking them to prepare for widespread layoffs and programmatic cuts through Reduction-in-Force measures. The memo was also a warning to Democrats: refuse to back a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government open and their beloved administrative state would face the consequences.

The government officially shut down on Oct. 1 after Senate Democrats voted against the CR, demanding increased funding for Medicaid, including for reimbursements for state spending on illegal aliens, and Affordable Care Act subsidies.

To turn up the heat, Trump and Vought met to discuss which federal agencies could be downsized. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told the Caller on Wednesday that layoffs were “imminent.” She estimated that thousands would be let go.

It's their shutdown - Schumer's Shutdown - to fight to keep benefits for illegal aliens/2030 Census placeholders.

Release the O.M.B. hounds and the G.A.O. auditors!  A continuous drip, drip, drip of bad audit findings for Dem spending priorities will keep the wind out of their sails.  They will continually on their heels to defend their waste and mal-appropriation of public funds.

Libs value "ideals" and "agendas" over "people".  Let the public know how little the Dems care about those who work and follow the rules.

Cuts need to be made, PERIOD. Obviously the first to go should be benefits to non Americans. Shift those monies over to our homeless veterans, and those with mental health issues.

I'll believe it when I see it. So far Pres. Trump hasn't pulled the trigger and everyday the Senate votes on the CR. If the Senate passes the CR the opportunity for downsizing on a big scale disappears.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

All Federal agencies can be downsized.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Back in 1986, the oil boom in ND (and most other places) collapsed. In 1992, Ed Shaffer became our Governor in North Dakota, and almost immediately told all State Agencies to return 5% of their budget to the general fund each year. The agencies were given the power to make their own cuts, and met or exceeded the cut. They did this every year until the budget balanced.

With the Federal Government, entire agencies could be pretty much eliminated (redundancy) and the rest, with very few exceptions downsized. Get Elon back on it or look over his recommendations, for starters.

We haven't seen it yet. Is it possible that the Rino's have enough votes to tell Pres. Trump if he makes the cuts they will vote for the Rats CR?

What is the administration waiting for?
CUT. THEM. NOW.
Start off with a 10% cut across the board, in all agencies.
And tell the d-communists, that an additional 5% will be cut every second day until they agree to vote for the current bill...

Congress won't do squat unitl their facing down the barrel of a Treasury Bond market collapse due to insufficient demand for new debt issuance.

Sure, institutions and nations are stuck with their current holdings, but they will rotate their excess surplus currency reserves away from dollar-denominated Government bonds towards other assets denominated in other currencies or previous metals.

Gold is $4,000/ounce.  Bitcoin is at record highs.  This is good for dollar-denominated exports, if the world still wants them.

They'll have to rely on the Fed to manipulate bond rates and interest rates as much as it can to offset lackluster private and foreign demand for US Debt.

The nations that we tariif will find other markets for their goods or pivot their economies to produce good and services that have greater global demand.

America is no longer exceptional because the Reps and Senators in Congrgess are so mediocre and petty.

I agree.

Where are the cuts that Pres. Trump said were going to happen? I don't doubt Pres. Trump wants to move ahead with them, but for some reason they haven't occurred. Is it possible the congressional Loyalist Pubs are undercutting the Patriot Pubs.

RINO:
"Congress won't do squat unitl their facing down the barrel of a Treasury Bond market collapse due to insufficient demand for new debt issuance."

There's no lack of demand for t-bills, although rates have been dropping.

If the fed wants to create "demand" for t-bills, that's EASY:
Raise the interest rates.
