NJ nurse suspended without pay for calling out doctor who ‘cheered’ Charlie Kirk’s death: suit

A New Jersey surgeon allegedly “cheered” the assassination of conservative pundit Charlie Kirk — and a nurse who spoke out against the vile act claims she’s been suspended for her objections.

Lexi Kuenzle, a nurse at Englewood Health, filed a lawsuit Friday in Bergen County Superior County Court against the hospital, Dr. Matthew Jung and others claiming she was wrongly fired for calling out the doctor’s vile act on her personal Instagram account.

“She had the audacity to question how Dr. Jung can comply with the Hippocratic Oath’s and the American Medical Association’s Code of Medical Ethics while celebrating the murder of a non-violent Christian speaker who was on a college campus,” Kuenzle said in court papers.

Kuenzle was in front of a nurse’s station with eight other nurses, and a patient in a stretcher, when the news of Kirk’s death broke.

“Oh, my God! That’s terrible! I love him!” Kuenzle said, before Jung shot back.

“I hate Charlie Kirk. He had it coming. He deserved it,” the bariatric surgeon allegedly said.

“You’re a doctor. How could you say someone deserved to die?” Kuenzie recalled replying.

“It was mind-blowing to me ,” the 33-year-old Hoboken resident told The Post Saturday. “I was so angry and upset.”

Kuenzle said she reported Wednesday’s incident to management immediately and then posted about it on social media when she got home.  .  .  .

It is not clear what got her suspended without pay, but the hospital could argue that she shouldn't have posted on Instagram.  The part that is unclear to me is why her union did not back her.  She should definitely have a beef with them if their failure to back her is based on her viewpoint.

Feel badly for the doctor who impulsively vomited his personal feelings about Charlie Kirk upon hearing the news.

But, like I suggested here the other day to our good friend  @jmyrlefuller  , you must have "situational awareness" wherever you find yourself.  There are 'Speed Cameras' everywhere.

Earlier today a long dormant member attacked @Lando Lincoln  ... not realizing he may as well attack The Pope.

On a different subject.... I am probable one of the dumbest members of the forum... and sometimes I have nothing to add but a rant... and we all get it wrong at some time or another... but as far as I can tell, we still play for the same team in some capacity.

If you think someone is wrong, say it, don't spray it, because we all get defensive when pushed into a corner and it becomes a pride thing more than fact finding.

I'm not so sure about the "one of the dumbest members of the forum" part.
Is that like considering yourself one of the worst players on a championship team?
You have a lot to offer when you do.
Every person I have ever met knows more about something (if not a lot of somethings) than I do.
I can, and often do, learn from people who may not have the shiniest lives, highest test scores, biggest paychecks, or prestigious jobs. But they all teach me something if I let them, and I try to make a practice of that.

So there is my disagreement, softly spoken.
It is good you are here, all of us, because even in disagreement, we can test the facts and figure out what is true.
