Trump needs to implement the Defense Production Act to increase domestic production of bananas, avacados, and coffee.

The top issue of why Donald Trump won over working class voters over the Democrat was over high prices and his promises to bring them down

Now Trump is president and voters are holding him and the Republicans responsible. The midterms are probably not going to  be good next year for the GOP.

@Weird Tolkienish Figure

This is year-over-year inflation.  You do realize that six of those month were with Biden in office, right?

Looking at month-to-month, food prices fell 0.94% over the month of August 2025.  On an annual basis, that comes to -11.2%.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

They've been implementing tariifs with a chainsaw.  They need to work towards using ice picks and scalpels instead.

Foodstuffs should not be tariffed unless that exporting nation engages in unfair trade practices that put American products at a regulatory, price, or competitive disadvantage.

The goal is more balanced bi-lateral trade relationships, but that also requires US lawmakers to make it easier to do business in the US.

Some domestic industries may need legal protections from the Lefty lawfare designed to sue them out of business.

Are most of our foodstuffs are from overseas? What is that percentage? It's not subject to tariffs if it's grown or raised here.
The Republic is lost.
