President Donald Trump said on Friday that Florida officials are taking a "tough stance" by moving to eliminate all vaccine mandates for students, as he stated that some "vaccines should be used."

"I think we have to be very careful. You have some vaccines that are so amazing. The polio vaccine, I happen to think, is amazing," Trump told reporters, adding that he believes the COVID-19 vaccine developed during his first term is also "amazing."

He continued: "You have some vaccines that are so incredible, and I think you have to be very careful when you say that some people don't have to be vaccinated. It's a very tough position … it's a tough stance."

The president added that there are "vaccines that work, they just pure and simple work."

"They're not controversial at all," Trump said. "And I think those vaccines should be used, otherwise some people are going to catch it and they endanger other people. And when you don't have controversy at all, I think people should take them."

Trump was behind Operation Warp Speed. He's always been pro-vax.

The only reason Kennedy is even in the HHS to begin with was that deal Trump made to get him out of the 2024 race.

For the common or most dangerous childhood diseases, I think 'voluntary' will likely be enough to provide herd immunity, but I may be wrong.

Doesn't matter...RFK Jr. is now Trump's man and sets policy, so either Trump's with him, or else needs to fire him.

Trump's right.  We do have actual vaccines that work and have for generations --- polio, diphtheria, smallpox, chickenpox..... But, RFK's right that blanket mandates should be rare, not the norm.  Wasn't there a time when vaccines weren't made available, nevermind mandated, until years of trials were completed proving efficacy and safety?  We need to return to this practice.

I hope Kennedy also tackles the sequencing and combinations of vaccines given to children.  Our children today are being treated like trash cans --- overwhelming developing immune systems from birth.  This has to stop. Parents (in consultation with their pediatricians) should have the final say about what is put into their child's body and when.  Vaccines for children need to be unbundled with a flexible schedule under the direction of the parents.

Lastly, put a moritorium on mRNA technology.  There must be a thorough review of its efficacy as a vaccine, a full list of the side effects is confirmed and published and the appropriate ages for use are identified.

The money sucking drug companies are the worst stewards of public health.  They have to be brought under control.  I'd be in favor of beginning this process by making political contributions from them illegal with long prison sentences for both the company and the candidate.

Eliminating government mandates is not the same as prohibiting people from getting shots, but that's what we're hearing from the left: "OMG, I desperately want the Covid vax but I can't get it in Florida!!! They've banned it!!!"

Somehow, I doubt that's true.

If I were the parent of a young child, I'm sure I would want certain vaccinations for him or her, just not the ones that make no sense for infants, like Hep B, HPV, Covid, flu, etc. Sadly, I have to admit that too many parents don't bother to educate themselves on such things. "Gee, if the school district or his pediatrician says Junior needs six dozen vaccinations by his teen years,  that sounds good to me."
