The judge in the first case involving a group sexual assault of a Reserve Officers Training Corps student has ordered the trial to start over on Friday. Pvt. Deron J. Gordon, 20, a multiple launch rocket system crew member for B Battery, 1st Battalion, 94th Field Artillery, 17th Field Artillery Brigade, pleaded guilty Wednesday to three of 12 charges against him stemming from his involvement in the October 2024 incident. Prosecutors say Gordon was one of four soldiers who had non-consensual sex with an ROTC student at the joint Army-Air Force base 56 miles south of Seattle. Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, three of the four were charged with sexual assault and the fourth with attempted sexual assault. Additional charges include recording the assaults, conspiracy to commit sexual assault, obstruction of justice, and posting videos of the sex acts on the Snapchat social media app.
