Visions for America: Democrats vs. America’s Founding Fathers
Mark Lewis

The Democratic Party, and members thereof, certainly have a “vision” of what they want America to be.  Some of that vision you and I would not disagree with at least what they SAY.  They SAY they want racism, poverty, and crime to end, and that they want peace on earth.  I’m not convinced the Democratic Party leadership really does want those things (look at what people DO, not at what they SAY—evil people want evil things). Still, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are just blind and don’t realize that their programs are often the cause of these catastrophes, not the solutions.  But I certainly would like to see racism, crime, war, etc., come to an end.  And I think most “rank and file” Democrats would, too.

The main issue is not that we want different things for the nation (although, again, there ARE differences in those “visions”), but mainly, how to accomplish the “vision” we have for America. As I will talk about further in this article, Democrats now believe that any “utopian vision” of America can only be accomplished through government action. That isn’t the conservative vision, or the vision of the men who founded the country. We believe in personal responsibility and accountability, in understanding that actions have consequences, and that hard work and virtue are necessary for a successful republic. And that such a vision is based on eternal verities, not human-devised governments. Our vision is the vision of America’s Founders. So, this is not just Democrats versus “us,” it is Democrats versus the people who founded the United States.

Two different visions of how to accomplish a great country. How did our Founders believe national greatness and success could be achieved? Their vision is discovered in the founding document of the nation, the Declaration of Independence.

Here are a few thoughts from the Declaration that seriously divide the nation on what and how the country can become great and successful.
