I have a nephew that moved his family to Las Cruces because his wife’s family goes waaay back with Indian and Mexican roots and close knit, also there are many of them in New Mexico.

Susana Martinez was the best governor in the country when she led New Mexico.  How far they have fallen since turning the state over to Democrats in 2019.
