US sends military forces to Southern Caribbean to counter threat

The United States has ordered the deployment of spy planes, a warship and even a submarine to the Southern Caribbean Sea to address the growing threat posed by Latin American drug cartels. The directive marks yet another escalation by President Donald Trump, who has long wanted to use the military to go after the drug gangs that he has designated as global terrorist organizations.

Drug cartels are a far greater threat than any terrorist organization.  How many people died last year because of terrorists in the USA?   Counting domestic and foreign, I would guess less than 50!

How many people died because of drug cartels in the USA?  The number floated about is usually over 100,000 per year.

To me, we are at war with the drug cartels.  All of them should be kill on sight with extreme prejudice, and that includes the towns they control, their families, etc.  Little Julio grows up to take over the family business.  I say destroy every aspect of the cartels  including their families.  They care not how many they kill with their drugs, so everything that touches them should be considered a target, including dirty politicians.

And Mexico has gotten away with murder in terms of their do nothing regarding the cartels.  That must end too.  Either they attack cartels with a vengeance, or they become an enemy state.

Mexico has behaved as if it was "an enemy state" for years... decades.

Sooner or later, we're going to have to go in there with troops.
Cartels... and more.
