Netanyahu: Israel Will Seize Full Control of Gaza, Defeat Hamas, Transfer Territory to Arab Governance

Joshua Klein 7 Aug 2025

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared Thursday that Israel “intends to” take full control of the entire Gaza Strip to eliminate Hamas and transfer authority to non-hostile Arab forces, outlining his most comprehensive vision yet for ending the war as his security cabinet met to approve the operation.

Speaking to Fox News host Bill Hemmer ahead of the critical security cabinet meeting, Netanyahu laid out his vision for completely dismantling Hamas rule and transferring Gaza to new leadership.

“We have three missions: One, to eliminate Hamas as a governing and military power in Gaza, otherwise there’s no future for anyone and we will have many more kidnappings and hostages,” Netanyahu declared. “Second, achieve the liberation of all of our hostages. And third, make sure that Gaza doesn’t pose a threat to Israel again.”

The prime minister emphasized that Israel’s goal is liberation, not occupation. “We don’t want to keep it; we want to have a security perimeter,” he said when asked about seizing control of the entire 26-mile Gaza Strip. “We don’t want to govern it. We don’t want to be there as a governing body. We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will govern it properly without threatening us, and give Gazans a good life.”

Huckabee announces plan to expand aid distribution operations in Gaza
Jerusalem Post, Aug 7, 2025

US Ambassador Mike Huckabee announced a plan to expand aid distribution operations in the Gaza Strip early on Thursday morning.

The US plans to finance the new aid distribution centers, which will expand from the current four to a total of 16 new points where Gazans will be able to pick up aid.

The news comes as Israel announced plans to ramp up aid distribution in the Strip by either funding the Gaza Humanitarian Fundation (GHF) or allowing foreign countries to send supplies.

Israel’s principles for ending war include Israeli security control of Gaza
From CNN’s Dana Karni and Helen Regan, Aug 7, 2025

Israel’s security cabinet has adopted five principles for ending the war in Gaza, including “Israeli security control in the Gaza Strip” and a new civilian administration to govern the enclave, the Prime Minister’s Office said Friday.

These are the five principles:

* The disarming of Hamas
* Return of all the hostages – the living and the dead
* The demilitarization of Gaza
* Israeli security control in Gaza
* The establishment of a civil administration that is neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority

“A decisive majority of Security Cabinet ministers believed that the alternative plan that had been submitted to the Security Cabinet would neither achieve the defeat of Hamas nor the return of the hostages,” the office said.

It was not immediately clear which alternate plan the statement was referencing or who submitted it.

Ahead of the security cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel did not want to govern Gaza. “We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will govern it properly without threatening us and giving Gazans a good life – that’s not possible with Hamas,” he said.

The cabinet also approved a plan from Netanyahu to occupy Gaza City despite rising international alarm over the humanitarian crisis in the pulverized enclave and significant public opposition to the plan in Israel.

Palestinians in western Gaza City, Gaza on August 7th.

Displaced Palestinians condemn Netanyahu’s "shocking" proposal to reoccupy Gaza
From CNN's Mitchell McCluskey

Displaced Palestinians in Gaza expressed frustration over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declaring his intention for Israel to reoccupy the enclave.

“It’s like there’s nothing left to occupy,” Mahmoud al-Qurashli, a Palestinian who was displaced from eastern Gaza, told Reuters on Thursday.

“Practically all of Gaza has been squeezed into the western part of Gaza City. At this point, there’s no difference anymore—whether he occupies it or not,” he said.

Ahead of a security cabinet meeting on Thursday evening, Netanyahu told Fox News that Israel intends to take military control of Gaza. The move would defy many Israelis who want the war to end and warnings from a defense establishment that believes an expanded group operation could endanger the Israeli hostages still in Gaza.

Raed Abu Mohammed, who was displaced from the Gaza City neighborhood of Shejaiya and has lived in a tent for five months, called the prime minister’s remarks “shocking.”

“We’re living under occupation from the air, the land, and the sea. But from our side, life had just started to move on, we had begun to settle a bit in our places,” Mohammed said.

“Yes, there’s suffering. Yes, there’s death. But we’re still clinging to life,” he said.

CNN video shows aerial view of Gaza during Jordanian aid drop flight over the devastated enclave
From CNN's Matthew Chance

CNN chief global affairs correspondent Matthew Chance joined the Royal Jordanian Air Force as aid was dropped into the Gaza Strip.

Chance noted the “complete level of destruction” that he saw during the flight. He described flying over neighborhoods that he had visited in the past being just a “pile of rubble.”

Organizations have also criticized aid airdrops as inefficient, costly and dangerous.

Satellite images show Israel building up forces for a possible ground invasion of Gaza, sources say
NBC News, Aug 7, 2025

Israeli army soldiers positioned near the border with the Gaza Strip in southern Israel on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON — Commercial satellite images show the Israeli military building up troops and equipment near the border with Gaza that would support a possible new ground invasion of the Palestinian enclave, according to three U.S. officials and a former official who viewed the imagery.

The images show troop movements and formations that the four sources recognized as signs of an imminent major ground operation.

From reply 4 above, a pic:

THIS is EXACTLY what hamas and the palis DESERVE.
They asked for it... they GOT it.

I think Netanyahu is making a mistake to even consider "Arab rule" over gaza.

Remove the palis -- every man, woman and child.
Ship 'em somewhere far off -- ANYWHERE.
Somalia might be a good place.

Israel should then clean up gaza and annex it, making it forever a part of the Jewish nation.

The Jordanian Arabs falsely known as "Palestinians" are useful idiots for the entire Arab League.  You are correct they aren't held in high regard...they have been used as pawns to fight proxy wars against Israel and the Jews for generations now.

They had their chance in 1948 to have their own homeland carved from the same part of Jordan that was designated for Israel.  Instead at the behest of the countries comprising the Arab league they refused to have their own homeland and attacked Israel.

They had yet another chance in 2000 at Camp David...Ehud Barak was willing to give Arafat and the PLO everything they asked for...everything that bigot RIV says they deserve now...and he walked away from it.

The likes of Hamas...Hezbollah and countries like Iran who sponsors both don't want peace...they don't want their own homeland...they want the Jewish people cast out of their biblical homeland and destroyed as a race.

There's another reason why the palis must be removed from gaza:

Doing so will END the efforts of the weak white countries -- Australia being the latest -- to proclaim "pali nationhood".

Let the pali "nation" be established in central Africa someplace.
Gaza goes back to Israel.

The mythical "non-hostile" Arabs?  I can't think of any that want to deal with the Animalstians.  Israel would have to keep it and crack down hard on the animal terrorists.  The world would probably be a better place, eventually.  And the pro Animalstinians will scream without end.

Ethnic cleansing is in the works, but they'll come to Europe, and probably here after 2028.  Israel already has people on the talking head shows, spouting some version of the following: If Gazans want to leave, why don't you want them to come to the UK?

After 58 years of Israel confining the Palestinians in an open air prison, I see you're still going with the "existential threat" reason.

58 years of war with goat herders is not a threat, it's a political choice.  Just ask Mr. Security, whose entire 35+ years political career is still dependent upon it.

But, you appear to be unaware of the games Netanyahu has been playing with Hamas and the lives of both Palestinians and Israelis. Please, keep reading:

When a Gazan unity government was finally formed in June 2007, Hamas broke the deal, started murdering Fatah members, and, in the end, took total control of the Gaza Strip. Those who weren’t killed fled to the West Bank, and the territories have remained split ever since.

Netanyahu saw the advantage of having Hamas in power: -— to keep Gaza and the West Bank from politically joining and forming a separate state.

To keep this ⬆️ dream alive, Bibi damn near treated Hamas like an ally, most notably: —

For years, Netanyahu authorized mega money transfers to Hamas from Qatar, the last transfer was in Sep 2023,

Netanyahu knew for certain about the tunnels since the war in 2014, but allowed them to be built and expanded for nine more years. They now house Israeli hostages.

The Netanyahu government ignored the clarion warning of an attack on Israel outlined in chilling details in the “Jericho Wall Document”, a document compiled by Israel’s own security agencies. Netanyahu chose instead to dedicate focus and resources to expanding settlements in the West Bank.

Netanyahu is Israel's existential threat.

There are two rallying cries for "the river to the sea" :

For the Israelis:  The Likud Charter included "from the river to the sea, will be Israeli sovereignty".

For the Palestinians:  the PLO Charter included " from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free"

Just thought you should know.

Jordan tried one time taking in "Palestinian" refugees during a dust up with Israel...the "Palestinians" repaid their kindness by trying to overthrow the government.

That's why the King of Jordan said when this new conflict broke out two years ago that his country "absolutely would not" accept any "Palestinian" refugees this time.
