ICE arrests over 200 illegal immigrants with child sex offense charges in Southeast Texas
08/01/2025 / By Laura Harris
Since February, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested 214 non-citizens in Southeast Texas, all illegally present in the U.S. and either convicted of or charged with sex crimes involving children.
The number of arrests already exceeds the total for all of Fiscal Year 2024 in the region, highlighting a surge in enforcement activity.
Many arrested had prior deportations and serious convictions, including aggravated sexual assault of minors. Over half have already been deported again.
ICE attributes the surge to a new whole-of-government approach using multi-agency teams focused on removing the most dangerous criminal aliens.
ICE leadership emphasizes that coordinated federal action is producing historic results, enhancing community safety and border security in Southeast Texas.
