'Doomsday' 100-foot mega tsunami likely to hit the US

Scientists are warning that a 100-foot, Doomsday-style tsunami is primed to hit the US West Coast at any moment.

Yet bizarrely, experts say that the sooner the tsunami hits the better despite thousands of deaths being predicted in their models.

The natural disaster threat stems from the Cascadia Subduction Zone, a 700-mile fault line from northern California to British Columbia, which has lain dormant for 300 years.

The zone is due for a major earthquake, scientists say, and any resulting tsunami will be more devastating if sea levels continue to rise.

The one that might happen is the Canary Island fault, where a huge chunk of land will subside into the Atlantic ocean, creating a displacement tsunami, as opposed to the uplift/downlift one in the article.

A displacement tsunami, as it is named, will displace the same amount of water as the land the falls into the ocean to create it. Unlike the uplift tsunami, which goes until it hits shallow water before breaking, this kind creates a standing wave on the surface that travels until it hits land at the same height. The one in the article would flood cities like Seattle. A displacement tsunami would role over all East coast cities, until it broke against the Appalachian/Allegani mountains. It is assumed the wave would travel at close to 300-600 mph.

Look up Latuya Bay, Alaska where there was one of these waves in the 1950s.

The sooner the better.  I like the way they thinks.  Think of all the possibilities should this act of God visit Cali.

This is not new news.  So, wtf, are we supposed to do with this?  What's the point?  What's the action item? 

Do they want the D.P.W. to pave over the Cascadia Fault to fill in the cracks and smooth it over?
Drain the Pacific Ocean?
Build a 100 ft sea wall?
Jack up the Pacific Northwest onto 100 ft of cinder blocks?
Pass a law banning tsunamis?

Why are these negative Nancies pooping in the punch bowl?  Everyday we get out of bed, life is trying to kill us.  Now let me enjoy the rest of this Summer day because it could be my last.

Did you know there's a supervolcano under Yellowstone Park?  Wait until these geniuses find out about the New Madrid Fault System.  Doom is all around us, hiding in plain sight.  Get used to it.

WELL I’d miss a couple of niece in Washington, a nephew up near Berkeley, but otherwise…….oh hell we will probably be dead by the time it happens🤷🏼‍♂️
