GOP Would Pick Up at Least 5 California Congressional Districts if Illegals Were Not Counted in Census – Rep. Burchett

“If they would do the census legitimately and not count illegals, we would probably pick up five congressional districts [in California] at a minimum, if they just did it honestly like they are supposed to,” Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) told Border Hawk during a wide-ranging interview.

By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell - and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed.

In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan.

So, in effect, illegal immigrants are voting!

Mr. Trump will try to force the issue, but it will have to end up in the Supreme Court for his attempts to be successful...

Seems to me SCOTUS ruled 30-40 years ago that illegal aliens have to be counted in the Census....

I will NOT comply.

Same court that gave us Roe/Wade.

Then perhaps it's time for the High Court to re-examine the issue.

30-40 years ago who could have been thinking that the illegal population could surge 6-8 million each year, several years in succession...?

The Census count should not be used to determine Congressional apportionment.  The Fourteenth Amendment is clear on that.  Apportionment is based on the number of people legally allowed to vote, not on total population.

However in the case of California, do not assume that the five lost seats would be Democrat seats.  Knowing the shenanigans there with ballot laws, it would be likely that five GOP seats would be lost instead.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-
