Why DARPA Thinks Stealth Is Obsolete in Future Wars

The rapid rise of quantum sensing is swiftly overcoming the value of stealth in war, which will be eclipsed by a need for speed, self-defense measures and other means of evading an enemy, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s No. 2 official said.

The “stealth era” may be coming to a close as the future becomes increasingly dominated by sensors, Rob McHenry said on a webinar hosted June 25 by the Air and Space Forces Association’s Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies.


“I don’t think we’re going to be able to hide, in an operational sense, in a realistic way,” McHenry said, “due to the sophistication of sensor fusion and track, using AI and other techniques.”


His comments come as the Air Force invests heavily in stealthy platforms that could sneak by enemy air defenses in a future conflict, from the next-generation F-47 fighter to the B-21 bomber to new hunter-killer drones. The service has mused that larger, slower jets like tankers and transport planes should also have some form of cloaking to avoid being targeted as they ferry equipment, troops and gas.

For the moment stealth is a sound investment.

And I say the primary means of war will not be on a battlefield, but will be primarily bio in nature.  Develop a virus or bacteria that wipes out desired segments of society.  Population getting too old, well, why don't we have Fauci fund research in China to complete the mission?  Obama prohibited gain of research in the USA, so Fauci had to find another route to take to accomplish his goal of reducing senior citizens. 

So, that research is still progressing.  You think we will not have more virulent pathogens to emerge in the future?  And right now, we are hollowing out the CDC.  So, there will be fewer folks to respond to the next outbreak.  And there is no head of the CDC, which makes it a weaker organization.  That makes a lot of sense.  And the next outbreak, it is coming.

My wife just had the most recent variant of COVID, and she has never been this sick before.  She is two weeks post symptomatic, and she is still very weak.  Thank God I did not get it from her.

Yeah, the future will continue to have bio weapons being unleashed to reduce the global population.  There are those that want the global population to be below 50 or 500 million, depending on who you talk to.  They want to destroy a huge chunk of humanity to protect the planet.  So, stealth does not help when fighting bio weapons.
