An ICE raid on a California cannabis farm descended into chaos and violence on Thursday with a protestor opening fire on federal agents while tear gas billowed around them.

The mayhem unfolded at Glass House Farms in Ventura County in Carpinteria, near Los Angeles.

Members of the National Guard were deployed to the scene along with law enforcement agents.

Just seconds after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents fired smoke canisters into a crowd of demonstrators near Laguna Road, one individual could be clearly seen raising a firearm and appeared to discharge it in the agents' direction.

The raid was part of the broad federal crackdown on undocumented workers in Southern California - but it quickly spiraled into bedlam.

Agents blocked off roads and stormed the facility in what witnesses described as a sudden and aggressive operation.

Tear gas choked the air, smoke bombs were thrown and projectiles flew.

Protesters, farmworkers, and family members scattered through the fields, many screaming, some hit, with others pouring milk over their faces to soothe burning eyes.

At least three people were taken to the hospital while dozens more were detained.   


An ICE protestor could be seen firing a gun directly towards federal agents on Thursday morning, dangerously escalating an already volatile standoff at a California cannabis farm

Violent rioters clashed with federal immigration officers on Thursday after U.S. Customs and Border Protection raided two Southern California cannabis farms, one of which is now under investigation for child labor violations.
 
Ten illegal immigrant minors, eight of whom were unaccompanied, were rescued from the Camarillo Glass House farm. U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott confirmed that feds have put the farm under investigation for child labor violations.

“This is Newsom’s California,” he said.

The Department of Homeland Security arrested dozens of illegal immigrants during the raid and “arrested multiple individuals for impeding [the] operation,” U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli said. The FBI is currently searching for one of those individuals, who appeared to shoot a firearm at law enforcement.

A worker who fell from a greenhouse roof during federal immigration raid is now dead, his family says.
Trump administration officials Saturday defended the aggressive campaign to find and deport unauthorized immigrants even as a cannabis farmworker was pulled from life support Saturday, two days after he plunged from a roof amid the mayhem of a Ventura County raid.

The death of Jaime Alanís Garcia, 57, announced by his family, comes in a climate of increasing tension marked by weeks of militaristic raids, street protests and violent melees involving federal agents.

Alanís’ family said he was fleeing immigration agents at the Glass House cannabis operation in Camarillo on Thursday when he climbed atop a greenhouse and accidentally fell 30 feet, suffering catastrophic injury.

All the other headlines I have seen made it seem ICE broke his neck, through him off a roof, or some heinous act.  Then I find out it was his own stupidity that caused his death.  It isn't like the MSM to make such innuendos.

Border Czar Tom Homan was asked about the insanity on Fox. He also dropped some big news about the 300,000 children who had gone "missing" under Joe Biden. They've found 10,000 of them, according to Homan.


"Rescuing children should be a non-partisan issue," Homan exclaimed, "everybody should be in lockstep on that." He added that ICE is saving lives every day.

Connecting thirty-three hundred thousand (330,000) missing children to these child laborers is ridiculous.

Catholic Charities and other NGOs know exactly where each household is when they can find specific children.

Their end game has always been chain migration provided for parents, siblings, cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles of amnesty candidate...whatever you want to call them.

Effectively turns one minor child into as many as several dozen 'new' American VOTERS.

More than 300 illegal aliens were detained in a dystopian ICE raid at a California cannabis farm - and one of them has been identified as a child predator.

Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Rodney Scott confirmed one of the illegal farmers was previously sentenced for child sex crimes and worked at the same farm as juveniles.

'This illegal alien was apprehended at the CA marijuana facility,' he said of the unnamed man.

'Turns out he had been sentenced to 7 yrs for kidnapping & attempted rape, w/ a prior conviction for attempted child molestation.

'And this felon was working at the same farm as 10 kids - one being 14 yrs old.'

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers carried out multiple raids Thursday across Ventura County, just north of Los Angeles, on cannabis farms leading to a violent response from locals and farmworkers at Glass House Farms.

The raids sparked backlash from Democrats, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Democrat Congressman Jimmy Gomez, who suggested workers were 'picking strawberries' in the fields.

One farmworker died after falling from a greenhouse roof during the chaotic raids on Thursday after the Department of Homeland Security executed criminal search warrants at Glass House Farms facilities in Camarillo and Carpinteria, northwest of Los Angeles.

The raids came more than a month into an extended crackdown across Southern California that was originally centered on Los Angeles, where local officials say the federal actions are spreading fear in immigrant communities.


A federal judge on Friday ordered the Trump administration to halt indiscriminate immigration stops and arrests in seven California counties, including Los Angeles. On Monday, the Justice Department appealed, calling the order “indefensible on every level.”

A California professor has been arrested for allegedly throwing a tear gas canister at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during a massive raid on a cannabis farm last week, where agitators also hurled rocks at law enforcement vehicles. The raid led to the arrest of more than 350 illegal aliens and the farm is suspected of using 14 children in potential forced labor, exploitation and trafficking violations.

Jonathan Anthony Caravello, a math professor at California State University Channel Islands, was arrested by federal agents conducting a raid at Glass House Farms in Ventura County, California, on Thursday, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli confirmed via X.

Essayli was responding to a local report on Caravello’s arrest, which quotes a social media post from the California Faculty Association (CFA) labor union accusing agents of "kidnapping" Caravello.
 

"Professor Jonathan Caravello was not ‘kidnapped’ by federal agents,’" Essayli wrote. "He was arrested for throwing a tear gas canister at law enforcement."

Essayli wrote that Caravello was charged with a violation of 18 USC 111, assaulting, resisting or impeding a federal officer.

Caravello appeared in court on Monday and was released on a $15,000 bond, per reports.
