Between January and May, Texas also accounted for 42.2% of total U.S. crude oil production.Texas’s natural gas production set record highs this spring as the state’s oil production remained at strong levels, reinforcing “Texas’ central role in powering the U.S. and global economies,” according to a report released Monday by the Texas Oil & Gas Association.
Texas accounted for 42.2% of total U.S. crude oil production and 29.2% of the U.S.-marketed natural gas production between January and May, according to the group’s June 2025 “Monthly Energy Economics Review.”
The group estimated Texas crude oil production remained steady at 5.7 million barrels per day last month, while natural gas gross withdrawals increased to 36.9 billion cubic feet per day, with marketed production reaching a record 34.4 billion cubic feet per day. Natural gas liquids production remained at 4.0 million barrels per day.
